Rockdale and Lexington held their ‘Gold Out’ to fight childhood cancer Thursday at Taylor’s New Memorial Stadium raising almost an astonishing $70,000 for cancer research and support of victims. What was it all about? These four youngsters, marching with four Tiger players, and thousands more like them. They are (L-R) Rhett Wilkins, Matthew Montelongo, Austin Nowlin and Collin Pickel. Wilkins, Montelongo and Nowlin are in remission and Pickel is representing his late brother, Dustin, who passed away in 2014. Tiger players are Jackson Perry (10), Cayden McBride (59), Quentin Hughes (1) and Carson Offield (60). Lexington also had representatives and Friday was designated Gold Out Day in Rockdale.
