On Saturday at a temporary clinic in Rockdale 15 volunteers came together to vaccinate 226 Milam County residents for the COVID-19 virus. Ten nurses and others came out on a Saturday at the former Rockdale Clinic to receive the vaccinations. These were done in a safe and orderly manner in only five hours.
“Our hats are off to this great team for the outstanding volunteer work that was done,” County Judge Steve Young said.
If you want to get on the vaccination list, call 254-697-7000 or simply email Amy Guillen at aguillen@milamcounty.net to get on the list. The shots will be given to those on the list on a first come, first serve basis.
And there will be more clinics to come, Young said.
“If you are a Milam County resident and you want a vaccination, I guarantee you are going to get it,” he said.
On Tuesday there were 66 individuals tested in Thorndale, with 25 positive results. Since Sept 1, 2,465 individuals have been tested with 684 positive results making a positivity rate of 28 percent.
There are no new COVID-19 numbers. The county is in the process of having the state assume our contact tracing, which will enable the county to use the Health Department staff for vaccinations. New numbers are coming soon.
