These two photos, taken three years apart, illustrate what is the goal of recent drainage and paving work at the Burleson-San Andres intersection. The often-flooded intersection looked like the right photo in November, 2015 as city employees Shane Whitmire and Gerald Washington worked in the water. Rains connected with Hurricane Harvey heavily damaged the area in August, 2017, and the city received a grant for repairs. The left photo shows the new Ham Branch culvert on Burleson, the bottleneck for the drainage problem, which also devastated the roadway.
