Daniel and Jenny Willie (above) made Thanksgiving dinner for lots of hungry folks last Wednesday for both the young and young at heart. Here are Daniel’s own words about the special day: “I love to cook. So Thanksgiving is always fun for me. I’m fortunate enough to have been asked to be on the board of the Milam County MARC Center and have enjoyed every minute of it. Just an incredible group to work with, including all the people who use the center, the instructors and all the other board members.
“Jenny and I also own Tiger Town Learning Center so when I volunteered to cook turkey and dressing and hams for the MARC Center luncheon on the 23rd, we scheduled our Thanksgiving lunch at the daycare for the same day.
“Jenny and I ended up smoking about 10 turkeys, 12 hams and making quite a few pans of dressing. Other board members at the MARC Center and staff from Tiger Town made all the sides and deserts. They were both really good meals.
“We were so happy with the turnout at both lunches. I think by the end of Wednesday we had helped to feed over 80 people and still had a few turkeys and hams for friends and family. All in all it was just a fun day.”
