—Thorndale High School student Scott Widner recently received one of 12 Blackland Income Growth (BIG) scholarships. He is the son of Scott and Cindy Widner and plans to attend Texas A&M or Tarleton State University this fall. He is currently serving as District 8 4-H vice-president and was awarded the Gold Star Award in 2018. He competed in 4-H events including consumer decision making and healthy business.
