Wreck snarls traffic

A late-afternoon wreck Saturday on US 79 near downtown caused a detour while officers cleared the scene of the accident that sent one woman, complaining of neck pain, to a hospital.

Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene before the traffic flow could return to normal.

ARRESTS—Police officers made six felony arrests during the week with five of them on drug-related charges.

The sixth felony arrest involved a 28-year-old Rockdale man who was taken into custody Saturday night on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and interference with a request for emergency assistance.

CALLS—Police responded to 262 calls with 125 being 911 calls.
