State Troopers were called to several accidents on South Milam County roads over the Thanksgiving Holiday week, with some involving injuries and almost all involving substantial damages. Trooper Ernest DelBosque said a vehicle was totaled and the driver was taken to an area hospital by private conveyance in an 8:45 a.m. Friday accident on foggy County Road 324 near the CR 320 intersection. He listed the driver as Tyler Prazak, 23, of Rockdale. According to the DPS, the vehicle left the county road and collided with a fence and a tree. An 86-year-old Austin man was taken to Taylor Scott & White after a one-vehicle rollover at 5:15 p.m. Nov. 25 on FM 908 near the FM 486 intersection. The DPS listed the driver as John Dawes Jr. Vehicle damage was listed as “extensive.” The Thorndale Volunteer Fire Department was called to the scene to assist. A 55-year-old Rockdale man refused treatment after a one-vehicle rollover at 5:33 p.m. Nov. 27, on FM 908 near County Road 319. Driver was listed as Billy Norman. Damage was termed “extensive” by the DPS. A deer running into the road triggered a near head-on collision between two vehicles at 6:19 p.m. Nov. 25 on US 77 near Briar Lane, according to the DPS. Drivers were listed as Sylvester Graham, 61, of Temple and 34-year-old Fidencio Bustas of Cameron. Damages were termed extensive to the Graham vehicle and moderate to the Bustos vehicle. No serious injuries were reported in the accident. Moderate damages were reported in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of US 79 and Fourth Street in Milano at 10:55 a.m. Nov. 27. Drivers were listed as Mustak Ahmed, 20, of Pflugerville and 77-year-old Raymond Meaux of Huntsville. No injuries were reported. A one-vehicle accident was reported at 3 a.m. Saturday on County Road 318 near FM 908. According to the DPS, a vehicle operated by Javier Moreno, 20 of Hearne sustained extensive damages when it struck a guard rail. The Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the accident scene.
