It was a beautiful day for a dedication ceremony last Wednesday at Rockdale High School, which marked the "official" ribbon cutting ceremony for the high school and intermediate campuses. Roughly two-and-a-half months after beginning classes, school officials recognized architects, contractors, trustees and steering committee members. The new facilities and campus will be part of the legacy of former Rockdale ISD superintendent Walter Pond (right), who served the district for 20 years, retiring in 2008. Tours of the high school were held after the ceremony, showing off the facility which doubled in size. Reporter/Ken Esten Cooke 002p1_xlg.jpg
