Workers began erecting the steel frame for the new Dollar General Store, located at 1025 W. Cameron Ave. (US 79). Warwick Construction is contractor for the project, which was permitted for $545,248. The new larger store will take the place of the current location at 1325 W. Cameron. The new store is located on land formerly owned by Union Pacific Railroad, which sat vacant for years. Richard Thrasher purchased the property from U.P. Dollar General will develop approximately half the total property. Thrasher said recently that no plans have been made for the remainder of the land.
