The plant and commercial teams in Alcoa's Rockdale Atomizer Plant were awarded a letter of recognition for completion of the last lot of Alcoa aluminum powder for the current Reusable Solid Rocket Motor as well as being the sole supplier since 1992. The last space shuttle launch, scheduled to fly in late 2010, will be powered by propellant made with Alcoa aluminum powder. Alcoa has been a supplier since 1982 and will continue to provide aluminum powder in the next generation space shuttle. The letter also said that ATK Thiokol wanted "to commend and recognize Alcoa employees and management team in completing this significant mission." 085p1_xlg.jpg
