TRAINING FUNDS— Alcoa Foundation recently announced a $200,000 investment to fund eight training programs across the country, including one in Rockdale, that will prepare hundreds of adults for current and future manufacturing jobs. The commitment was announced at the 2011 Clinton Global Initiative annual meeting held in New York City. Workforce Solutions of Central Texas will receive $22,500 of that to offer lean manufacturing and other effective soft skills courses to re-skill workers in Central Texas.
