A PLACE TO PRAY—The Memorial Prayer Garden at First Presbyterian Church on Alcoa Ave. which has seen stages of growth, recently saw lots of progress as Debra Stevens of Garden Treasures and her crew put finishing touches on the plantings for the garden. Following Sunday’s morning worship service several gathered outside to take in the beauty of the garden, and then joined in for a fellowship lunch. There will be more plantings in which the church youth will be involved, all in preparation for the dedication of the garden and the 60th anniversary of the church on Sept. 15. “All are invited to come walk, rest or pray in the garden,” spokesperson Annette Griesbach said. 59p1.jpg
