PRECIOUS RESOURCE—Little River Basin Master Gardeners learned about water conservation practices at their meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 21. Jon Gersbach, Milam County Extension Agent, demonstrated how homeowners can perform their own irrigation evaluations of both basic sprinkler-garden hose set-ups and more complex automatic systems. The Master Gardener program is a volunteer development program offered by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and is designed to increase the availability of horticultural information and improve the quality of life through horticultural projects, according to Linda Jo Conn, vice-president of the organization. 64p1.jpg
