Aycock graduate Eural Davis was known as the ‘Jackie Robinson of track.’ In 1947—the year Robinson integrated baseball— Davis became the first African-American to travel with an integrated track team. He was sixth in the Olympic long jump trials the next year. He went on to a long career teaching and coaching and is a member of the Prairie View A&M and Rockdale Athletic Halls of Honor. 28p1.jpg
