Last week I had the wonderful experience of attending my granddaughter's kindergarten graduation. Sitting there watching the young parents and the excited students made me think of when her daddy, my oldest son, was sitting in that same seat of graduating from kindergarten. Full Story
Building permits go slow in May
Building permit for Rockdale totals trickled in for May, totaling $161,991 for the month. May's numbers bring the year-to-date total to $1,327,415. Last year, new schools were permitted during May, bringing the year-to-date total in 2008 to over $26 million. Full Story

Thorndale girls: Class of '09 was one of dogged determination
I started covering Thorndale Lady Dog sports about five years ago. That year was exciting, but hopes were high for the next year when the incoming freshmen class would join THS athletics. Before they were even in high school, expectations were high for these now graduating seniors, especially the girls in the class. Full Story
