Reunions

Caffey
 Services for Wayne Caffey, 73, of Rockdale were held Monday, May 12, 2008, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Rev. Ronnie Dyer and Rev. Chip Palmer officiating. Burial was in Sharp Cemetery in Sharp.
 Mr. Caffey died Friday, May 9, in Richards Memorial Hospital in Rockdale.
 He was born Jan. 20, 1935, in the Duncan community of Milam County to Lenza E. and Ruth (Duncan) Caffey.
 He married Shirley Dyer on June 1, 1962, in Tracy Methodist Church.
 Mr. Caffey was a graduate of Sharp High School where he participated in a variety of sports.
He was a member of United Methodist Church.
 Mr. Caffey farmed and ranched all of his life and enjoyed the outdoors, his family, puzzle books, John Deere tractors, camping and he was a big sports fan.
 He was preceded in death by his parents.
 Survivors are his wife, Shirley Caffey of Rockdale; a son, Billy Caffey and wife Deana of Thorndale; two daughters, Tammy Cass and husband Mark of Rockdale, Pattie Schneebeli and husband Earl Wayne of Jacksonville; three brothers, Lenza Caffey Jr. of Fort Worth, Clement Caffey and wife Sally of Bossier City, LA, Clyde Caffey of San Marcos; two sisters, Anita Davis and husband Bob of San Marcos, Novalene Green and husband Fred of Belton; five grandchildren, Jessica Aguilar and husband Tony, Matthew Cass, Nathan Cass, Amanda Schneebeli and Joshua Caffey; and a great-grandchild, Gavin Aguilar.
 Pallbearers were Bradley Dyer, Stephen Caffey, Brad Green, Brady Green, Ronnie Caffey, Randy Caffey and Keith Davis.
 Honorary pallbearers were Stephen Stolte, Leslie Moerbe, Buster Cass, Reed Davis, Kit Worley and Cecil Wildner.

Galban
 HOUSTON—Tim “Poppy” Galban died Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at his home in Concan.
 A memorial service was held Saturday, May 10, at Gateway Community Church in Webster.
 He was born June 25, 1939, in Rockdale to Plasido and Marguerite Galban.
 Mr. Galban graduated from high school in Thorndale in 1957 and relocated to Houston soon thereafter.
 He and his wife, LuAnne Galban, were married on Nov. 5, 1960.
Mr. Galban was very involved with his children and his community where he coached Little League baseball, football, announced Galena Park High School football games, along with various boxing matches in the community.
 He worked as an electrician with Shell Oil at their Deer Park refinery for over 30 years.
 He and LuAnne retired to their home in Concan in 1996.
 Mr. Galban was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Ferdie, Plasido and Larry; a son, Geren “Pero”; a daughter, Jennifer “Jenny”; a nephew, Butch Guerrant; and his mother-in-law, Vera Guerrant Gilliam.
 Survivors are his wife, LuAnne Galban; a daughter, Kim Kane and husband Bob; two sons, Deren “Pokey” Galban, and Chris “Bear” Galban and wife Kelli; a daughter-in-law, Kelly Galban; 11 grandchildren, Kelci, Sam and Kati Kane, Ashley, Brittany, Hollyn, Geren, Amber, Alec, Micah and Kenzi Galban; three sisters, Phyllis Green of Temple, Elizabeth Guidry of Austin, Adelpha Davis of Rockdale; and two brothers, Buddy Galban of Dallas and Wayne Galban of Temple; also, several nieces and nephews.

 

Jungmann
 CAMERON—Private family funeral services were held for Ruby Elois Jungmann, 72, of Rogers on Monday, May 5, 2008, at Hope Lutheran Church in Buckholts. Burial was in Hope Lutheran Memorial Park.
 Mrs. Jungmann died Thursday, May 1, in a Clifton nursing home.
 A homemaker, she was born April 10, 1936, in Rogers to Leslie and Lessie (Riddle) Hill.
 Mrs. Jungmann was a graduate of Rogers High School.
She married Leland Jungmann.
 Mrs. Jungmann worked for over 20 years at Rogers ISD as a kindergarten aid and was a member of Hope Lutheran Church.
 Survivors include her husband, Leland Jungmann of Rogers; a daughter, Cheryl Bell of Rosebud; two sons, Leland Jungmann Jr. of Georgetown and Ronald Jungmann of Rogers; and two sisters, Joyce Mertz of Rogers and Pat Sebek of Temple; also, seven grandchildren.

Lewis
 LEXINGTON—Services for Linoel Lewis, 82, of Lexington were held Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at First Baptist Church in Lexington with Dr. Forrest Lowry  officiating. He was assisted by Rev. Rick Spence, Rev. Reuel Cooper and Rev. Austin Lewis. Burial was in Lexington Cemetery.
 A longtime Lexington resident, he was born March 16, 1926, in Mildred to James Anderson and Eunice (Hill) Lewis.
 He married Mary R. Parker on Nov. 27, 1948, in Lexington.
 Mr. Lewis was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy.
 He was a rancher and worked at Gulf Oil Refining Co. in Port Arthur for four years before returning to Lexington.
 Mr. Lewis was a member of Lexington First Baptist Church and song leader for many years.
 He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Raymond Lewis and James Lewis; and a sister, Irene Vance.
 Survivors are his wife, Mary Lewis of Lexington; a son, Randy Lewis and wife Cinndy of Lexington; a daughter, Cindy Spencer and husband Rick of Lexington; six grandchildren, Sarah Spencer and fianceé Brent Becker, Rachel Lewis Theodorakos and husband Jared, Luke Spencer, Parker Lewis, Anna Spencer and Ben Spencer; and a great-granddaughter, Hayden Bexley.
 Pallbearers were Mr. Lewis’ grandchildren and honorary pallbearers were members of Open Bible Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church in Lexington.
 Memorials can be sent to Lexington Cemetery Association or Lexington First Baptist Church.

Noles
 TEMPLE—Memorial services for Earlene Singletary Noles, 60, of Temple will be held at 4:30 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2008, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple with Rev. Ranjan Cletus and Chaplain Judy Hoelscher officiating.
 Mrs. Noles died Monday, May 12, at her home.
She was born April 2, 1948, in Madisonville to Johnnie Earl and Ophelia Faye Keefer Singletary.
 She was a 1966 graduate of Madisonville High School and was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Temple.
 Mrs. Noles was the assistant manager of the Wal-Mart store in Rockdale for many years and was a teacher aide for the Belton ISD, retiring in December 2007.
 She was preceded in death by Roger Dale Noles in 2001.
 Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Faye Ramsey and husband Ryan of Temple; three sons, John Noles and wife Melanie of Georgetown, Roger Vincent Noles and wife Sheryl of Bastrop, and David Brock Noles of Temple; five grandchildren, Bradley and Tyler Noles of Georgetown, Reagan Ramsey of Temple, Amber and Chase Noles of Bastrop.

Stokes
  Funeral services for Myrle W. Stokes, 92, of Rockdale, formerly of Cuero, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 15, 2008, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Rev. Chris Osborne and Rev. Margaret Clemings officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Memory Gardens in Cuero.
 Mrs. Stokes died Monday, May 12, in Manor Oaks Nursing Home in Rockdale.
  She was born May 13, 1915 in Smiley to W.A. and Julia (Thigpen) Neely and married Pete Stokes November 1977 in Cuero.
 Mrs. Stokes was a graduate of Smiley High School and an LVN for over 40 years, serving in hospitals in Cuero and San Antonio. She worked in a church library for 18 years and taught art for 13 years. She studied art under Delhart Winberg from 1960-1968.
 She was preceded in death  by her husband; daughter, Marjorie Ruth Cowan; son, James W. McKinney; two sisters, Doris Copeland and Sue Paviliska; two brothers, Hobby and Bud Neely and great grandson, Arthur Scott Praesel.
 Survivors include her two daughters, Virginia Praesel and husband, Arthur of Rockdale and Frances Gregory and husband, B.J. of Brazoria; two brothers, Dwight Neely of Floresville and Bill Neely of Tucson, AZ; two sisters, Mildred Randolph of Karnes City and Patsy Drake of San Antonio; seven grandchildren, Roger and Pam Praesel, Gus and Tina Praesel, Yvonne and Mike Baker, and Evada Davis; and nine great grandchildren, Justin and Andrea Praesel, Audria and Daryl Trammel, Brandi and Ronnie Verret, Clay Praesel, Gina Davis and Adam Rocha.
 Pallbearers will be Roger Praesel, Justin Praesel, Clay Praesel, Arlon Hester, Mike Baker and Kyle Hester.
  Honoray pallbearers will be Adam Rocha, Gus Praesel and Bob Dube.

 

Thornton
 Services for Robert Edward Thornton, 83, of Houston, formerly of Lexington, were held Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Pastor Linda O’Neal of Lexington United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in Lexington Cemetery.
 Mr. Thornton died Monday, May 12, at Methodist Hospital in Houston.
 A Houston resident for 60 years, he was born May 13, 1924, in Malone to John Jefferson Thornton and Carrie (Wooley) Thornton.
He married Elza Bess Tally on Nov. 12, 1944, in Lexington.
 Mr. Thornton was an electrical engineer for his own business, Robesco. After he retired, he did consulting work.
 He served in the Merchant Marines as a radio operator and was a member of Belair United Methodist Church in Houston.
 Mr. Thornton was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Paula T. Beall.
 Survivors are his wife, Elza Bess Thornton of Houston; a daughter, Norma A. Bracy and husband Jim; and two sisters, Mildred Morris of Temple and Dora Durham of Colorado; also, two grandchildren.
