Clement James Tomek
CAMERON—Clement James Tomek, 100, of Cameron entered eternal life on Divine Mercy Sunday, April 7, 2024. He died peacefully at home surrounded by family.
He was born Nov. 1, 1923, in the Elm Ridge community on the same property on which he died.
Clem was the son of Frank and Annie (Chernosky) Tomek.
He was a hard working farmer and rancher and was a devoted father and husband.
Clem was a faithful and lifetime member of Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Marak for over 100 years.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Cyclone-Marak and Marak KJT.
Clem married Martha Vasicek on May 17, 1955, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Temple. They were married 66 years until she preceded him in death on Aug. 24, 2021.
He is survived by his children, son Duane Tomek and wife Susan of Leander, daughter Beatrice Williams and husband Doug of Rockdale, son Raymond Tomek of Cameron, son Melvin Tomek and wife Melissa of Round Rock.
Clem is also survived by granddaughter Alicia Huppe and husband Matt of McKinney, grandson Jacqués Williams of Cedar Park, grandson Thomas Koederitz and wife Jenny of Rockdale; great-grandchildren Juliana Huppe, Wade Koederitz, Wyatt Koederitz and William Koederitz; and his sister, Rosalie Leonard of Dickinson.
Clem was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Annie Tomek; brothers Frank Tomek Jr., John Tomek, Charlie Tomek, Louis Tomek, Jerry Tomek and Eugene Tomek; sisters Mary Hall, Annie Coody, Helen Sims, Dorothy Kincer and Sister Mary Augustine.
On Thursday, April 11, visitation will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Marak. Rosary will be at 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ranjan Cletus and Deacon Don Sims officiating. Burial will follow at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Koederitz, Jacqués Williams, Matt Huppe, Steve Tomek, Kyle Plachy and Benny Drozd.
