COVID testing is Friday in Cameron

Thursday the Milam County Health Department along with the volunteers vaccinated 225 individuals in Rockdale: 193 first round and 32 second round shots. So far Milam County has vaccinated almost 1,900 individuals and over 1,000 have received both shots.

Also, Williamson County has agreed to send the county 200 doses of the Moderna vaccine early next week.

"These doses are in addition to what will we get from the State. This all came about due to an initial request from our Emergency Management Coordinator Bryan Burns to Williamson County. This led to a conference call on Monday and now the doses. We thank County Judge Bill Gravell and all of our friends in Williamson County for the extra doses," said County Judge Steve Young in an email.

There are 2,350 people on the waiting list. "More drugs are coming and we will eventually get everyone in this county a shot. We can assure everyone that we do and will have enough vaccine for all second round shots. If you are in group 1A or group 1B, call 254-697-7000 or email Amy Guillen at aguillen@milamcounty.net and get on the list. When your turn comes, we will call and schedule your appointment," he said
