BURN BAN LIFTED

Milam County's burn ban was lifted today at noon, according to Milam County Judge Bill Whitmire.

Under the direction of Bill Torrey, the Milam County District Attorney, the following felony cases were recently resolved in Judge John W. Youngblood’s 20th Judicial District Court:

TXDOT paving starts Monday from Burleson to Ackerman

On Monday, July 17, 2023, weather permitting, the Texas Department of Transportation’s (TxDOT) contractor will begin paving operations between the US 79 intersections with Burleson St and Ackerman St in Rockdale.

GROUNDBREAKING FOR NEW NEIGHBORHOOD

Groundbreaking for Rockdale’s first master planned community, and the first new neighborhood since the 1980s, took place this morning on FM 487 at 8:30 a.m. City officials and representatives from Ranch Road Development were on hand. Construction begins tomorrow.

COUFAL INDICTED FOR THE MURDER OF HIS MOTHER

COLTON BRADY COUFAL, 27, of Cameron, was indicted by  the Milam County Grand Jury today for 1ST Degree Felony, Murder, of his mother, Christi Warrick Coufal on December 5, 2021. This matter was presented to the Grand Jury by the Milam County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Rangers.
