Jones

Services for Thomas “Tom” Eugene Jones, 78, of Round Rock were held Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026, at Rio Grande Tex Mex Restaurant in Round Rock. Mr. Jones died Thursday, July 30, in Austin.

He was born Aug. 28, 1947, in Temple.

He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. His military awards include the Bronze Star for valor.

He later worked as a narcotics agent for the Texas Department of Public Safety until his retirement. He also served with the United Nations in several countries.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Foster Jones of Round Rock; a daughter, Jean Zajieck; a stepdaughter, Kari Foster Cazalas; a brother, John Lee Jones; a sister, Peggy Stewart; and five grandchildren.
