Main Street Bookshop held their grand opening and ribbon cutting on Wednesday at their location at 202 West Cameron Avenue.

MARC ride to be held Saturday

The 22nd annua l MARC Ride, which helps fund MARC, is scheduled for June 10 at The Ranch. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and there will be a live auction after the ride at 4 p.m. with a meal provided for the riders.

Bulk waste pickup set for June 14th

The Cit y of Rockdale will hold a free bulk waste curbside pick-up on Wednesday, June 14. City residents, with active water and or trash accounts, who have bulk items for disposal should contact City Hall at 512446-2511 by Wednesday, June 7 at 4 p.m. to get on their list.

US 79/Main roadwork will cause delays

Expect delays in downtown Rockdale for the next week as TxDOT starts finishing up the “star” corner of Cameron Avenue and Main Street. All traffic will be down to one lane until work is finished on Wednesday, June 14, weather permitting.

FIRST FRIDAY COFFEE

Crown Garden Club hosted the June coffee at the Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library on Friday. The coffee gatherings are held on the first Friday of each month from 9 to 10:30 a.m.

YARD OF THE MONTH

After 37 years of gardening at their home at 402 Calhoun, Denise and Ralph Sifuentes have been awarded Yard of the Month by Rockdale Earth Day. “Beautiful perennials, shrubs, flowers, trees, yard art and a relaxing swing make for a great setting,” said Rockdale Earth Day Chairperson David Melton.

Noack family reunion held in Forest Grove The family of Ernest Noack gathered for their annual family reunion Saturday, June 3 at the home of Glenna Keen Lynn in the Forest Grove Community.

Loth graduates Texas Wesleyan

FORT WORTH—Ross Loth graduated from Texas Wesleyan University Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a 3.6 grade point average. He is headed to the University of North Texas College of Law in the fall.

Summer aviation fun at the airport

Are you interested in aviation? Kent Givens and Jimmy Cox will hold get-togethers on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. throughout the summer for both adults and kids. “We’ll talk about airplanes and maybe even go flying,” Givens said.
