St. John’s Methodist receives new pastor

St. John’s United Methodist Church has a new pastor, Curtis Matthys. He will succeed Rev. John Seaton who is now serving a church in Montgomery. Rev. Curtis Matthys is a lifelong United Methodist who served in leadership roles at his local church and district before going into ministry.

RISD GIVES 'ALL CLEAR' AT ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL

ALL CLEAR. The high school campus was checked by Texas A&M bomb dogs and then manually searched. No devices were fond. It appears this was a hoax and intended for a different school district in another state.

BOMB THREAT AT HIGH SCHOOL; ALL CHILDREN SAFE

Rockale High School has received a phoned-in bomb threat. All children have been removed to the former hospital and are safe. The school will send out a notice of when and where to pick up children. Authorities are on site and establisheing a command post. All children are safe.
