We’ve got easy weeknight dinners including white chicken chili, a crockpot chicken thigh dinner with lots of spices and a spinach tortellini dinner this week in Kyle’s Kitchen, 2A.

Farmers Market starts March 2

The Rockdale Farmers Market will launch on Saturday, March 4 at its new location at Wolf Park downtown on Main Street. The hours will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in this new permanent location.

MCT holds youth auditions, announces first play

Auditions for Milam Community Theater’s Youth Series’ play “We’ll Be Right Back After This Murder” will be held at the First Methodist Fellowship Hall in Cameron. Auditions are scheduled for Monday, Feb. 20, and Tuesday, Feb. 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. for youth 11 to 18 years of age.

ELCaT meeting set for March 2

The March 2 meeting of the Rancheria Chapter (ELCaT). The meeting will be held at 10 a.m. at Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library. The agenda includes an update on Baumann/Conner trail.

Council hears audit of water loss

At Monday night’s city council meeting attendees heard an audit from JBS Consulting Services of Houston who was hired by the city to help them understand water loss issues in Rockdale. The summary concluded that Rockdale has a 24 percent loss of non-revenue water totals.

QUICK LOOK

St. John’s United Methodist Church’s annual Chili Supper will be held at the church on Thursday, Feb. 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. The chili suppers will be available to eat in the fellowship hall or to take home. Chili with all the fixings and dessert are $9 which is payable at the door.

Heavenly Treasures open Tuesdays-Fridays For February Heavenly Treasures has Valentines decorations on sale, as well as coats and jackets from $3-$5. Keto support group meets Thursdays at 7 A keto support group meets at the First Baptist Church’s south entrance every Thursday at 7 p.m.

Intermediate happenings

How is it already February? It has been a wonderful year at Rockdale Intermediate School. We wrapped up the week with our Spring Dance. If you haven’t had a chance to check our Facebook page, you should. Our students were all dolled up for the big night.

GAUSE NEWS

The sun is shining bright this Monday morning. A nice day for those who will be working outside. Come July and August, it will be a different story. Our electricity was off and, now that it is back on, everything needs to be reset to the right time.
