Carbon Monoxide Death outside of Rockdale

On April 11, 2022 at approximately 3:30PM, the Milam County Sheriff’s Office was notified by the Rockdale Police Department of an unattended death that occurred just outside of Rockdale City Limits.  Upon arrival, law enforcement personnel located a white male, in his 30’s, deceased.

Thorndale man sentenced to 30 years

  Today in Judge John W. Youngblood’s 20th District Court of Milam County, Patrick Michael Anness, 52, of Thorndale was sentenced to 30 years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice after pleading guilty to a First-Degree Felony, Sexual Performance by Child Under 14.

Around Rockdale and Cameron these collection jars for Diana Martinez, who is very ill, have been popping up and none of the money is actually going to Diana Martinez. The woman who has been collecting the money has been described as tall and thin and she claims she is a family member.

Milam County is down to 33 covid cases

We have 5 new cases to report, 8 cases to discharge, leaving 33 confirmed, active case of the virus in Milam County.  There were no new hospitalizations and no additional deaths.    Two individuals were tested today, but there are no positive results.

Milam County down to 38 active COVID cases

Today we have 7 new cases to report and16 cases to discharge, leaving us with 38 active, confirmed cases in the County.  There were no new hospital admissions and no new deaths.  11,105 Individuals in the County are fully vaccinated which is 47.24% of those eligible to be vaccinated.

Milam County records 94th death

This evening we report another COVID-19 related death of a Milam County resident.  This brings the death toll to 94.  Please be careful.  We have 9 new cases to report and 6 cases to discharge, leaving us with 75 confirmed, active case of the virus in the County.

COUNTY COVID NUMBERS DOWN AGAIN

Ladies & Gentlemen:  Our numbers are down again.  We have 13 new cases to report and 22 cases to discharge, leaving 139 confirmed, active cases in Milam County.  We are cancelling vaccinations and testing for the rest of the week due to the weather.  We will start again next Monday.

RISD CLOSED THURSDAY

Due to extreme weather conditions, Rockdale ISD will not have school on Thursday, February 3, 2022. A decision regarding school on Friday will be made Thursday afternoon. Thank you, Rockdale ISD

Milam COVID numbers moving in the right direction 2-2-22

We have 12 new cases to report and 26 cases to discharge, leaving 148 confirmed, active cases in Milam County.  One person was hospitalized and one person was discharged.  We have no new deaths to report.
