For most of Texas, this is the dream: the elimination of property taxes; and while most county judges cringe at this, just in the time I have been in office, my resolve to see this happen has grown immensely.

Attorney General Ken Paxton is doing Texas no favors with his furious filing of misguided lawsuits. Last month, his office, assisted by a Chicago-based law firm, launched a suit against the maker of Tylenol.

RDA’s Christmas Tree Lighting Thursday

onight, Thursday, Nov. 20, is the Rockdale Downtown Association’s annual Christmas Tree Lighting at Wolf Park. We’ll start serving the chili, hot chocolate and cookies at 6 p.m. and light the tree at 7 p.m.

Scary times we are living in

As you will see below in the Looking Back column, the 100 Years Ago part is back after many long months. It was supposed to take two weeks, but it took much longer than that. One interesting thing I found is that the Thursday Reading Club was around in 1925 and is still around.
