ran across this recipe the other day and it sounds very good. There was a video of a lady making it and it’s also very easy. Definitely going to try this one. It’s kind of a cross between Mexican and good old Southern cooking.

Christmas parade, bazaar set for Saturday

It’s Christmas time in Milano as the city’s annual parade is set for Saturday. Line up for parade participants is at 9:30 a.m. at the Milano ISD football field parking lot. The parade will kick off at 10:30 a.m.

More turkey winners named

The Christmas turkey giveaway, sponsored by local merchants through the Chamber of Commerce, has begun and will run until the week of Christmas. Here’s how it works. When KRXT plays a “gobbling” sound if you are the first to call you will win a $15 gift certificate toward the purchase of a turkey.

Chamber plans ‘reverse Christmas parade’

As with many things, the holidays will look a little different this year because of COVID-19. The Rockdale Chamber of Commerce in keeping with social distancing has decided to do a “reverse parade” this year. Floats will line a path in Fair Park to create a walk-thru Trail of Lights.

We are officially in the countdown to Christmas now that Thanksgiving is over. While we’re making our Christmas gift lists this year, let’s remember to put local businesses at the top of the list. If anyone deserves support this year, it’s our local business community.
