THANKSGIVING FEAST

Saturday’s 24th annual Community Outreach Dinner went off without a hitch and provided about 500 meals for happy recipients. Many volunteers provided delivery service, and the Rockdale Rotary Club showed up at 7 a.m. to help make sure the day went smoothly.

Master Naturalists classes start in January

Texas Master Naturalist Courses begin on January 16 from 6 to 9 p.m. in Cameron. “If you are passionate about native Texas plants and animals you are welcome to joins us,” said organizer Linda Burgess.

BVR trash pick for Thanksgiving week will shift a day. Thursday, Nov. 28, will pick up on Friday, and Friday, Nov. 29, will pick up on Saturday. “Elvis” will be at the Senior Center on Monday, December 2 at 11 a.m. For $5 you can take pictures with Elvis and receive a teddy bear.

Easy Thanksgiving desserts

To my fellow diabetics: we’re going to talk about Thanksgiving desserts this week. Participate or not as you wish. I will not be diabetic on Thanksgiving Day. But I definitely will be the following day. I do like a piece of pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving but that is the only time of year.

Rockdale PD makes three felony arrests in seven-day period

Rockdale Police Officers made three felony arrests during the past week including: • Terry Sloniker, 35, Rockdale, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance (less than 1 gram) and possession of marijuana.

Responded to: • Near the intersection of West US 79i and CR 311 for an 18-wheeler rollover in a ditch with possible injuries on Nov. 14 at 10:51 p.m. • North FM 908 at a private road for a two-vehicle accident at 4:51 p.m. Nov. 15.
