Rockdale Police Officers made one felony arrest during the past week: • Charlotte Tabor, 47, Rockdale, was arrested on May 5 for a warrant for theft ($2,500) with two previous convictions and for possession of a controlled substance (less than 1 gram) in a drug free zone.

Responded to: • North FM 487 at CR 412 for a vehicle vs. deer accident on May 4 at 8:50 p.m. • The old McVoy's building which had collapsed on May 5 at 4:20 a.m. • 302 East Davilla along with Oncor for the smell of gas on May 5 at 10:51 a.m.

Allen Mack, the founder of the Living History Foundation, will be “Paving the Way for the Buffalo Soldiers” at the Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library on May 16. The presentations and living history exhibit will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and again from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Brookshire Brothers had a fundraiser for long-time store manager Jerry Pulley on Saturday, and they drew a huge crowd. The store sold boiled crawfish and shrimp plates with sausage, potatoes and corn.
