Brookshire Brothers will hold a crawfish and shrimp boil benefit to raise money for long-time store manager Jerry Pulley on May 4 from 11 a.m. until sold out. Pulley has been with the company for 32 years. He has recently been diagnosed with two brain tumors and is currently undergoing treatment.

Milano school board election set for May 4

School Board Elections for Milano are May 4th. Early voting will be through April 30th at the Milano Community Center. SOFTBALL— Softball playoffs will begin in Belton against Goldwaithe this Friday and Saturday. Check the school’s website for times and exact locations.

There’s a new shop in town at Street Ministries at 225 N. Main St.. The shop is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and sells a variety of Christian- themed merchandise.

Fruity spring desserts

This week I've got some spr ingy f ruit desserts for you, and two of them are family favorites from my mom. We usually have one or the other on Easter, but we didn't this year. We are having our annual shrimp boil for Mother's Day this year and I'll bet one of these first two will be on the menu.

Robert Miller came by Sunday afternoon for a visit. He brought us our supper. It was good to see him. Gause Methodist Church is having Bible study at 5 p.m. every Sunday. You don’t have to be Methodist to attend. Wayne and I go and we are Baptist and are welcomed by everyone there.
