Main Street Bookshop held an eclipse watch party in their parking lot on Monday and even had visitors from London, England stop by. Booths were set up selling lemonade, all kinds of grilled cheese sandwiches, eclipse cookies and cupcakes.

Rockdale’s new Community Market starts this Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 12-noon at Cardinal Roofing, 1613 W. Cameron Ave. The market will feature a variety of vendors, a food truck and live music.

Early voting at City Hall, other news

Early voting for the May 4 election for both city council and RISD school board will start on April 22, and this year the voting will take place at Rockdale City Hall in the council chamber. Early voting dates and times are April 22 through April 26 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
