Book festival in Cameron Saturday

The inaugural Small Town Big Book Festival is set for 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on March 14 at Cameron Beer Market and will bring together writers, artisans, food vendors and community organizations for a day of celebrating books and local businesses.

A BIG HIT— Rockdale Community Market held its first fair at Wolf Park on Saturday and these puppies from Rockdale Animal Shelter were a big hit with these girls. The market will be held each Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held last Wednesday for the opening of RISD's College and Career Academy in Rockdale's former hospital.

After nearly three years at Rockdale Animal Shelter, Apollo has been adopted and has a new family. A new non-profit group, Rockdale Paw Crew, started by Shannon Kornegay, worked with Apollo every day for six weeks to get him ready for adoption.
