First Friday coffee at library

First Friday Coffee at the Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library this Friday will be sponsored by Milam County Gene0logocial Society. Coffee and visiting goes from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and all are welcome.

St. Paul’s Easter Egg hunt April 4

St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Thorndale 4-H Club are hosting an Easter Eggstravaganza on Saturday, April 4, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale. The egg hunt will start at 10:20, outside or in the family activity center.

Master gardeners spring plant sale

Little River Basin Master Gardeners will hold their annual Spring Plant Sale on Saturday, March 7, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Milam County Expo Building at 301 S. Houston Ave. in Cameron. There will be hundreds of plants including natives, vegetables, herbs, roses, trees and bloomers.

Milam County primary election results

Milam County early voting ended Feb. 27 with grand totals for the Republican ticket at 2,103 and the Democratic ticket at 617. Election day voting on Tuesday, March 3, saw local County Commissioners James Denman keeping his seat, as did Wesley Payne who ran unopposed.

Rockdale Community Market returns to Wolf Park March 7

Rockdale Community Market makes its return to Wolf Park on Saturday, March 7 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be a reopening ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. The day will also feature a Car Show from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with judging starting at 10 a.m.

On Wednesday a ribbon cutting will be held celebrating the grand opening and honoring Dr. Denise Monzingo’s career in education as she retires. Facility tours will be given. Small Town Big Book Festival

The inaugural Small Town Big Book Festival is set for 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on March 14 at Cameron Beer Market and will bring together writers, artisans, foo vendors and community organizations for a day of celebrating books and local businesses.
