Speakers announced for water summit

The annual Milam and Burleson Counties Groundwater Summit will be held August 17 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Caldwell Civic Center. The Summit is free and open to the public with lunch provided.

ORGANIZATIONS

O.J. Thomas 58th reunion August 12 The O.J. Thomas Alumni Community Resource Center will hold their 58th annual homecoming on Saturday, Aug. 12, with a tailgate party from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and a barbecue lunch at noon. A dance will be held in the cafeteria from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. featuring Joe Tex II.

REUNIONS

Holdiness reunion to be held August 5-6 The Holdiness Family Reunion will take place Aug. 5-6. The reunion will be held at Flying N Ranch from 7 to 10 p.m. Aug. 5 and at Milano Senior Center from 1 to 5 p.m. Aug. 6.

‘Meet the Eagles’ event to be held August 9th

Meet the Eagles will be at 7 p.m. on Aug. 9. There will be both a silent and live auction. Come meet and support our local athletes. FALL SPORTS— Fall sports begin practice on July 31: football 8:00 a.m., volleyball 9:00 a.m., cross country 6:30 a.m.

It’s been a beautiful Monday morning. I haven’t checked the weather, by noon it may be very warm. That is what happens this time of year. We are fortunate enough to have a few window units and ceiling fans. When the weather changes, we will have to get ready for whatever the change is.

Rockdale PD makes four felony arrests, responds to one traffic accident

Rockdale Police Officers made four felony arrests during the past seven days including: • Adrian Isreal Herrera, 20, Rockdale, was arrested by Ofc. Wall for possession of a controlled substance (4 grams to 400 grams). • Demarcus Parr, 43, Rockdale, was arrested by Ofc.
