Marker dedication

The Historic Texas Cemetery marker dedication was held at 6 p.m. on Saturday evening at the old City Cemetery. Joan Ratliff acted as MC for the event. Mayor Brett Boren led the Pledge of Allegiance and Melanie Todd sang the National Anthem and Texas, Our Texas.

Rockdale VFD responded to: • 2721 Charles Martin Hall Road for a two-vehicle accident on Tuesday. • South US 77 for a two-vehicle accident on Wednesday.   • Empty lot of Stokes Street for smoke and flames from a barrel on Thursday.   • CR 429 for a small grass fire on Saturday.

Police arrest four on felony warrants

Rockdale Police Officers made four felony arrests during the past week including: • A 12-year-old male juvenile, Rockdale, was arrested on Tuesday by Sgt. Parker on a warrant for assault causes serious bodily injury. • Fred Joseph Hanhart, 42, Rockdale, was arrested on Thursday by Ofc.

Today during lunch at Rockdale Junior High, a student air-dropped an image of a threat to several other students’ phones. Those students shared the message with campus administrators who in turn contacted district administration.
