Storm spotter training program set for Jan. 14th

The 2021 severe weather season is not too far away, and the National Weather Service and local public safety officials want you to be ready. The National Weather Service will conduct a free, virtual severe weather training class for Milam County on Jan. 14, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Rockdale Athletics to pick up tree limbs Saturday

  Rockdale Athletics is planning to lend a hand to community members that have limbs in their yard due to the snow storm. Saturday morning from 9-12 we will be driving around and helping to get fallen limbs out to the road so the city can pick them up.

Testing reveals more cases in the county

On Tuesday there were 66 individuals tested in Thorndale, with 25 positive results. Since Sept 1, 2,465 individuals have been tested with 684 positive results making a positivity rate of 28 percent.  There are no new COVID-19  numbers.

Icy conditions delay start of school

Rockdale ISD will have a 2 hour delay this morning due to potential ice on roads and bridges in the the early morning.  Buses will run 2 hours later than normal.
