A ceremony was held last Thursday morning at City Hall to kick off a flag project which was the brainchild of City Councilwoman Esmeralda Ruelas-Olivares and the American Legion’s Jim Foster with a big boost from Riot Platforms, Inc.

Rockdale, Milano students enjoy Camp RYLA

Illiana Roemelin and Destin Richardson, Rockdale High School students along with Peyton Steinbecker and Jovi Hughes of Milano High School were selected to attend RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) Camp. The RYLA program is an intensive training experience for incoming juniors and seniors.

POSGCD to hold groundwater summit Aug. 7th

Post Oak Savannah Groundwater Conservation District will host its annual Groundwater Summit on Thursday, Aug. 7, at the Caldwell Civic Center. The event is free to attend and offers landowners and residents the chance to hear directly from the people shaping water policy and planning across Texas.

Rockdale Full Gospel Church along with Masters Marshall Arts will present a community camp called “Board Breaking Faith” on July 12 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for children ages 7 to 17. The church is located at 467 North US 77.

Here's a good salad for summer. It has all the ingredients of a tasty submarine sandwich without all the bread. This recipe does include croutons, but you could leave them out if you're low carb or diabetic. We don't eat iceberg lettuce at home, but any kind would work. I'd use romaine.
