The Rockdale High School Class of 1951 celebrated 74 years at the home of Charlie and Pat Watson on Saturday, June 14. There are 14 members of the class remaining and letters and reminiscences were shared by those unable to attend. The class will be celebrated next year at the Citywide Homecoming.

Meet Diego Hernandez. He's the new Civic Engagement Coordinator for the City of Rockd ale and you'll be seeing his face all over town. He' l l b e handling the city's communication and marketing, engaging the public through social media, events and will be taking over the city's website.

POSGCD to hold groundwater summit August 7

Post Oak Savannah Groundwater Conservation District (POSGCD) will host its annual Groundwater Summit on Thursday, August 7, at the Caldwell Civic Center. The event begins at 8:30 a.m. and is free and open to the public.

Saturday was a busy day at City Hall with a sausage wrap fundraiser for the RTX Divas softball team who are currently at the state tournament in Corsicana. "We raised $9,200 and sold 75 pounds of sausage which came to about 300 wraps," said Amanda Wells Thompson, spokesperson.

Wondering what to eat on July 4th? Let the Tanglewood Fire Department do the cooking for you. Tanglewood Fire Rescue will hold its department fundraiser on July 4 at 1041 W. CR 415 in Lexington from noon until sold out. The organization will sell brisket, sausage and pulled pork plates.

Liberty homecoming to be held July 6th The annual Liberty Homecoming Picnic and Cemetery Association Meeting will be held on Sunday, July 6. Bring your favorite picnic lunch and enjoy visiting with friends and family. The cemetery meeting is held at 11 a.m. with lunch following the meeting.

Rockdale PD responds to two traffic accidents to close out the month

Accidents • Ofc. Lentz responded to Childress at Zana Lane for a two-vehicle accident on June 24 at 1:26 p.m. • Ofc. Wachtel responded to near the intersection of Cameron Avenue and Parkway for a two-vehicle accident on June 30 at 11:55 a.m.
