There are lots of happenings in Rockdale this spring.

Ginno’s Italian Restaurant is our “Business in the Spotlight” this month.

Ginno’s has been in Rock-dale for two years and has now opened a bar at their restaurant to enhance their dinner menu.

Ginno’s is located at 1200 W. Cameron at the Kountry Inn.

Business of the Month is Bud’s Electric, located at 181 Northwood Dr., 1 block past Cowboy Church on US 77.

RECOGNIZED—Brett’s Backyard Bar-B-Que” for being recognized in Texas Monthly for its barbecue, sauces and Banana Pudding.

Our First Friday Coffee in the library is this Friday and is sponsored by the Rockdale Historical Society.

On Saturday, meet up at Corona’s at 2 p.m. to learn secrets about traveling professionals.

They will have snacks and door prizes. We also will have a ribbon cutting and 1 p.m.

Starting in May, we will have a Farmers Market each Saturday 7 a.m. to noon. If you know of someone wanting to sell goods, call the Chamber at 512-446-2030.

The Noon Lions Pancake Supper is at 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the New Salem Building in Fair Park.

LUNCH-N-LEARN— The Chamber is sponsoring a “Lunch N Learn” at noon Wednesday, March 6, at the Workforce Center.

Craig Krause will present “Mastering Your Memory.”

It’s free but you must RSVP by March 5 at 512-446-2030 to be sure to get a spot.

MORE—There are many more planned:

• March 8 to April 12 is the KC’S six-week fish fry each Friday, at the KC Hall.

Hours are 5 to 7 p.m. or until they run out. Price is $10 a plate.

• Spring Break for Rock-dale, Thorndale, Cameron and Milano ISDs is March 11-15.

• March 16 the Kay Theatre is having a Rock N Roll Dance with “The Star Chiefs.” Stay tuned for more information.

• The Rockdale Chamber of Commerce Banquet is March 28 at the KC Hall, this year.

People are going all out “Hollywood style” this year and dressing the part.

We will have a photo booth as in the past, so make the most of it. Be sure and send in your nominations for awards.
