The El Camino Real de los Tejas National Historic Trail (ELCAT), which spans 41 Texas counties will hold its annual meeting at Apache Pass in Milam County Oct. 11-12.

Special events are being planned for member participants for Oct. 12, according to Steven Gonzales, Executive Director of the Trail. A bus tour of Apache Pass and the surrounding area is one event planned.

The tour will include the archaeological site of Rancheria Grande in Gause as well as other historic sites. Deals for this tour, including registration procedures, will be announced at a later date.

Planning for these and special membership events is by a special committee chaired by Joyce Conner, member of both the El Camino Master Naturalists and The ELCAT Model Trail Community chaired by Dr. John Pruett.

Present from the Model Trail Community in this first planning session were Joan Ratliff, Elaine Baumann, Geri Burnett, Lynn Young, Dr. Lucile Estell, Dolores Sonntag, Brenda Pruett and Pruett. Members of the El Camino Master Naturalists who attended the meeting include Jackie Thornton, Ann Collins and Linda Conn.
