New Jerusalem plans pageant for Sunday

New Jerusalem Interdenominational Church has a couple of Christmas season events in upcoming weeks as follows:

• Sunday, 6:30 p.m. The church will host its annual Christmas Pageant. Presentation includes a dramatic presentation “Well Done, Thou Good and Faithful Servant.” The public is invited to attend an evening of praise and worship.

New Jerusalem Interdenominational Church is located at 103 Mulberry.

St. John’s UMC slates Christmas Cantata

The Chancel Choir of St. John’s United Methodist Church, under the direction of Melanie Todd, will present its annual Christmas Cantata during the 11 a.m. worship service on Sunday, Dec. 16.

St. John’s Christmas Eve candlelight service will be held at 6 p.m. Dec. 24. Rev. John Seaton, pastor, said these events are open to all.

The church office will be closed Monday through Wednesday, Dec. 24-26 for Christmas.

Holiday activities set at Meadowbrook Baptist

Meadowbrook Baptist Church will have several Christmas month activities in upcoming weeks as follows:

• 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, caroling.

• 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, Church Christmas Dinner, Patterson Center.

• 6 p.m., Monday, Dec. 24, Christmas Eve Candlelight Service.

Peace Lutheran plans special holiday events

Peace Lutheran Church has scheduled the following events:

• Dec. 11, 6 p.m., women’s ornament exchange.

• Dec. 12, 6 p.m. soup supper; 6:30, Advent service; 7 p.m., church council.

• Dec. 19, 6 p.m. soup supper; 6:30, Advent service.

• Dec. 24, 6 p.m., Christmas Eve Service.

New Jerusalem honors Brookses on Sunday

New Jerusalem Interdenominational Church will honor its founders and pastors in a special service on Sunday, Dec. 16.

Dr. Dennis L. and Clara Brooks will be honored for 38 years of ministry in a 3 p.m. special service that afternoon.

Guest speaker will be Bishop Clarence Drummond of United Faith Church, Copperas Cove.

The church is located at 301 Mulberry and the public is invited to attend.

On the previous day, Saturday, Dec. 15, a free workshop is scheduled at New Jerusalem and The Institute for Teaching God’s Word with 24 covenant pastors.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Gause church plans advent, Dec. 24 services

Gause United Methodist Church announces Advent through Christmas Eve Services.

Pastor Kyle McNeely invites the community to participate in all or any of the worship services.

Every Advent Sunday service (9:30 am) will consist of special music, readings, candle lighting, and message.

A Remembrance Service “The Longest Night will be held at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 21.

“This service is for anyone who has lost someone this year or still grieves for someone lost in the past,” spokesperson Reba Fischer said.

The holy season will culminate with a candlelight service at 6 p.m. Christmas Eve.

Rockdale Christian offers ‘Coats for Kids’

Rockdale Christian Church is providing new coats for children in the community “who are not fortunate enough to have good winter clothing,” according to Minister Harry Stevenson.

To qualify, a parent or guardian of a child elementary age or younger should contact the church at 512-446-2568 or 512-734-9155.

“A coat will be ordered once the request has been received and the necessary information has been provided,” Stevenson said.

Dec. 16—Third Sunday of Advent 10:30 a.m. worship service followed by a congregational meeting.

Dec. 18—Women of the Church travel to Georgetown and the home of Pastor David and Laura Wilman for December meeting and lunch

Dec 23 –Fourth Sunday of Advent 10:30 a.m. worship.

Dec 24—Traditional Candlelight service of Carols, Special Music and Lessons, 7 p.m.

First Baptist Church will hold its Christmas Cantata “Peace Has Come” at 10:30 a.m. Sunday in the church sanctuary, Bell at Green.
