    Grief Share program

    beginning on Monday

    “GriefShare,” a 13-week program gets underway Monday at Meadowbrook Baptist Church.

    It will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. every Monday at the church, 1401 Colorado, just south of Rockdale High School.

    Cost is $17 for the participants guide and those interested may register at www.griefshare.org or at the church website, www.mwqdowbrookrockdale.org.

    She said GriefShare is for those grieving the death of a family member or friend. “We understand there are other losses in life that create feelings of life, such as job less, divorce, estrangement from a child or the loss of friends because of a move.”

    “This grief is real, but it is not the kind of grief discussed in GriefShare sessions,” she said. “We encourage you to seek a pastor, counselor or church leader for help.”

    First Assembly of God

    offers free soup, coffee

    First Assembly of God, 310 Childress, will offer free soup, coffee and domino playing from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays beginning Jan. 12.

    Rising Star to honor

    pastor in February

    Rising Star Baptist Church, 1055 Texas Street, will honor its pastor and wife, Rev. Royal L. and Margret Johnson, with an appreciation weekend of services in February.

    A family and friends fish fry is set for 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23 in the church fellowship hall.

    The next day, Sunday, Feb. 24, guest minister Ricky Johnson will speak at the 11 a.m. service.

    That afternoon, Pastor Kevin Love and congregation of Living Faith Community Church, San Antonio, will join the Rising Star congregation for a 3 p.m. service.
