First Presbyterian lists month’s activities
The Lenten schedule at First Presbyterian Church has been announced as follows:
• March 31—Fifth Sunday worship service of special music, 10 a.m.; Supplies for Pack Pals collected until Palm Sunday.
• April 13—Palm Sunday, followed by lunch to celebrate Pastor David Wilman’s seventh year at the church
• April 16–Women of the church meet at Patricia McKee home, 9:30 a.m.
• April 18–Maundy Thursday service, 6 p.m.
• April 19–Good Friday worship, 5 p.m.
• April 21–Sunrise service at Memorial Prayer Garden, 7 a.m., followed by coffee, fruit and pastries; Easter worship service at 10:30, followed b Easter Egg hunt in and around prayer garden.
Outdoor Memorial Prayer Garden available any time; services at 10:30 a.m. each Sunday.
Peace Lutheran sets Lenten activities
Peace Lutheran will hold Wednesday Soup Suppers at 303 Meadow Lane throughout the Lenten season on April 3 and
10. A service conducted by Pastor Gary Veit will follow. Call 512-446-2834 for information.
The church also continues its Lent used clothing drive for Rock-dale Christian Service.
Pleasant Retreat UMC schedules garage sale
THORNDALE—Pleasant Retreat United Methodist Church will host a garage sale from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 5 and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 6 in the Thorndale Chamber of Commerce building.
On April 6 the church will also hold a bake sale at Thorndale Meat Market.
St. Monica’s to host dinner on Sunday
CAMERON—St. Monica’s Catholic Church of Cameron will host a barbecue chicken and Green’s Sausage dinner during the St. Monica’s Ladies Festival March
31.
Location is Simon-George Hall, 401 South Karnes.
The sale begins at 11 a.m. and plates are priced at $10 each.
Activities also include a silent auction, cake.
