“Joy for the Journey,” a Christian motivational event for women, will take place from 8 a.m. until 12-noon Saturday, Sept. 24, at First Baptist Church, 400 W. Main St. in Cameron.
“The speaker will be Tammy Whitehurst, well-known for her events which encourage women to discover the Joy in the truth of God’s word,” said organizer Betty Harmon. “She wants people to realize they can have joy in their journey, no matter what they have been through or what they are going through at the present time.”
“We invite you to join Tammy as she shares the hope and happiness that come when we know Jesus,” she added.
A continental breakfast will be served. There is no charge for the event, but love offerings are accepted.

New Hope to celebrate 131st anniversary on September 25th
New Hope Missionary Baptist Church will hold their 131st anniversary at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 25.
Pastor Claude Jackson of Sardis Primitive Baptist Church in Mexia will be the guest speaker.
The annual Thanksgiving Outreach Dinner will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 19 at the first Baptist Church on Green Street.
