Because of last Thursday’s thunderstorms the Rockdale Earth Day Friday k ick off at R ockdale H igh S chool had to be rescheduled, but the weather didn’t stop any of the planned projects from taking place to beautify Rockdale.
Above, a huge team from RIOT (formerly Whinstone) took over Veterans Memorial Park and did a fantastic job of power washing everything including all the playscapes, created a garden beside the pool and regraded the volleyball court.
At left, city council members Kyle Walker and Esmeralda Ruelas-Olivares, Tatiana and Luke Olivares and Nancy McMillan Zenner made quick work of creating a perennial garden at the Rockdale Housing Authority.
In the bottom left photo, the good ladies and gentlemen of Linwood Acres Garden Club gave away free plants to anyone who wanted them to beautify their yards.
Bottom right, city councilman Scott Starnes power washed everything at the RISD administration building. More beautification projects are in the works this week.
