GOING ‘HOME’—The Wolf Park flagpole, corner of Main and Milam, has a new home, or actually an old home depending on how you want to look at it. The flagpole was donated to Rockdale American Legion Carlyle Post 358 by H. H. Coffield over 50 years ago when the now-demolished legion hall was located on that corner. (It was also the bottom floor of the historic Wolf Hotel). The post is now located on FM 487 northwest of town and the flagpole has been ‘reunited’ with the post. Legion members expressed appreciation to the city council for approving the move, to council member Jason Barcak for coordinating the effort, and to Jackson Perry and Scott Morgan of Perry & Perry Builders for moving the pole.
