Choirs ring out holiday at concert
Body

The Christmas season has arrived.

If there was any doubt of that, Sunday’s annual Christmas at the Kay put it to rest.

Church choirs and soloists, backed up by the Communities in Concert Band, performed before an appreciative crowd which participated in a concert-ending sing-along.

Featured were:

• Communities in Concert Band, “Sleigh Ride”, “Jingle Bell Rock”, “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”, “Let it Snow.”

• The Wilmans (David and Laura), “Christmas Island”, “What Christmas Means to Me.”

• Melissa Davis-Shipley, “Child in the Manger”, “Ave Maria.”

• First Presbyterian Church Choir, “Night of the Father’s Love.”

• Donald “Doc” Shuffield, “All I Want for Christmas.”

• Brass quintet, Lee Thomason, Terrell Webster, Eugene Holub, Randy Holly, Bob Burnett, “Jolly Old St. Nicholas.”

• Kyle and Stacie Griesbach, “Child of the Poor.”

• Rising Star Baptist Church Choir, “Christmas Worship Medley”, “Let Us Adore Him”

The crowd joined in on the sing-along “White Christmas,” accompanied by the Communities in Concert Band.

Refreshments were by the Matinee Musical Club, a member of the National Federation of Music Clubs.

Lee “Sparky” Thomason is Communities in Concert band director.
