In the bottom left photo, Larry Drabek with Thorndale Cares was presented with a check for with $1,575 by Cynthia Parker Ferrell.
Organizer Charles Starr said, “Thank you to everyone that contributed in any way. You made this record year happen by beating our previous record of $10,200 set in 2008, the year Alcoa shut down, by $1,050 so this year’s total was $11,250. This total included over $5,000 in anonymous donations of toys and money. Thank you everyone for helping the less fortunate kids and families of Milam County. We could not do this without your big hearts and support. We especially would like to thank The Rockdale Reporter, The Cooke Family, KRXT 98.5 Radio, The McGregor Family, KMIL 105.1 Radio and The Cameron Herald for all your support helping get the word out about this event.”
