Lions Pancake Supper ahead Tuesday at park
The 19th annual Rockdale Noon Lions Club’s Pancake & Bacon Supper is set for Tuesday in the New Salem Clubhouse at Fair Park.
Hours are 5 to 7 p.m., price for adults is $8 per plate, $5 for children 6 to 12 and children 5 and under eat free.
Master Gardeners plan plants sale for March 9
Little River Basin Master Gardener Association will hold its annual plant sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 9, inside the Milam County Expo Building in Cameron.
Hundreds of plants available for purchase, including annuals, perennials, roses, vegetables, herbs, natives, shrubs, and “Earth kind.”
Master Gardeners will be on hand to assist with plant selection and questions.
Also on tap is a prize drawing with more than 30 items including plants, gardening tools, gift baskets, wreaths, yard art, and homemade items.
Tickets are $1 each or six for $5. Tickets can be purchased at the plant sale or in advance at the Milam County AgriLife Extension Office or from any Master Gardener.
Matinee Musical Club
meets at Butala home
The Matinee Musical Club met recently at the home of Mona Butala to hear the program “Light My Fire,” presented by Joann Bradford and Gloria Walker.
Lee Thomason played his own composition on the trumpet and L. C. Richards sang “Danny Boy” a cappella.
Also participating in the program were Marie Gest and Tami Stockton.
Hostesses were Donnie Rinn and Butala. Mary Ann Fenske was co-hostess.
The Matinee Musical Club is a member of the National Federation of Music Clubs.
Locklin Cemetery
group set to meet
The Locklin Cemetery Association will hold a semi-annual meeting at 10 a.m. March 2, at San Gabriel Christian Church Fellowship Hall.
Upcoming events will be discussed and all members and anyone interested are welcome to attend.
A work day has been scheduled March 18 at the cemetery.
Salty Cemetery group
sets Monday meeting
The Salty Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting at 7 p.m. Monday in the Salty Church Annex, according to Dana Caffey, spokesperson.
She said all persons with loved ones buried in the cemetery, and all others interested, are invited.
