Crown Garden Club okays two donations
The Crown Garden Club met for its November meeting at the home of Michelle Fletcher with Roberta Pounders serving as co-hostess.
Plans for a trip to the Arboretum were finalized by Barbara Nelson.
The club voted to give a $250 donation each to the Rockdale Christmas Roundup and Milam County Child Protective Services.
Mrs. Fletcher, master gardener, gave a program on the history of scarecrows and each member was given a decorative scarecrow to take home.
Door prizes were won by Patsy David, Nancy Marburger and Renee Pounders.
The December meeting will be at the home of Mrs. Nelson and will be a luncheon and gift exchange.—Peggy Cooke, reporter
Linwood Acres Garden Club holds meeting
Linwood Acres Garden Club held their December meeting at the home of Joy Reagan. Members brought salads and exchanged favorite Christmas recipes.
It was voted to continue support of the Chamber of Commerce by membership renewal. $270 was donated to the Christmas Roundup.
