Former long-time Rockdale resident Doug Smith will be honored with a 100th birthday party and lunch from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6 in the fellowship hall of St. John’s United Methodist Church, Summit at Hillcrest in Rockdale.
Hosts will be his daughters Carol Lynn Smith and Lynn Oldham.
“We hope his friends will be able to join us for this celebration,” they said. “His birthday is two days before the party, but we wanted this event to be held on Saturday.”
